Roads Made of Gravel
Despite being an MT, they have excellent traction on the loose gravel. They do, however, retain a significant number of rocks within the tread, which can make your pavement drive noisier. If you don’t have a decent mudflap, these tag-along rocks will burst out on the pavement and harm the paint.

Snow
The Courageous is excellent at gripping heavy, soft snow and dragging the car through it. The only thing I observed was that they don’t truly hold the car down at high speeds in the snow. At cruising speeds, they necessitate a strong hold on the steering wheel and extreme caution. However, if you need to chew through some previous thick snow, this is a fantastic tire to use.

Steering Response
Fortunately, because the steering reaction of the tire is heavily dependent on the inner construction and lug makeup, this tire isn’t all that horrible after all.
Sure, you can feel these tires, but due to their modest weight, they don’t understeer as much as other mud terrain tires.
This is due to the tire’s limited tread characteristics, which provide more rubber-to-pavement contact, resulting in faster communication between steering input and wheel response.
Dry Road Traction
In the case of dry grip, the tire’s contact with the surface is quite important, and the Couragia MT does not provide enough of it.

When you blow down the tires to a lower PSI value, the tire’s outer sidewall lugs come into play, and they provide you with tremendous gripping force and confidence-inspiring climbing abilities.
Overall, this tire gives you the best traction you can get on uneven terrain.
Traction in Sand
Sand, despite being difficult terrain, is not a problem for this tire. I am quite pleased with what it is capable of.
The lugs on the Federal Couragia M/T are particularly gripping on this terrain, as this tire contains all of the important elements needed for traction.
It has a silica-rich and soft rubber layer on top, and the tread voids it creates aren’t too deep.
Both of these factors boost the tire’s contact area with the sand, which is exactly what you need. That is why tires are inflated at a lower pressure.
