In this review, The Milestar Patagonia M/T is an excellent mud terrain tire that promotes excellent off-road terrain performance. This model is best suited for off-road SUVs and light trucks because of the traction and durability it provides. The Milestar Patagonia M/T not only ensures its various terrain grip but also maximizes the vehicle’s controllability and overall durability while off-roading.
Information About the Product
The Milestar Patagonia M/T has an aggressive tread design to boost performance on various terrains. The tread design’s staggered tread block and high void ratio improve soft and loose off-road terrain grip. The tread elements optimize forward motion and allow the tire to conquer various terrain surface conditions, resulting in a safer driving experience. The ideal center block location improves steering response and driving stability, while the construction allows the tire to perform heavy duty.
The long-lasting compound materials and self-cleaning tread design avoid damage to the tread area and casing, further improving driving safety. Stone retention is reduced because rocks cannot lodge between the tread components, and the robust compound prevents chipping, cracking, and tearing of the tread. Milestar Patagonia M/T tires are available in sizes ranging from 15-20 inches.
Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire Overview
The Milestar Patagonia M/T Tires are an excellent choice for a high-quality, low-cost mud terrain tire. This tire is made to perform well in mud, sand, rock, and other conditions. The high void tread design not only gives a distinct appearance but also encourages self-cleaning, allowing mud and debris to be expelled fast. To prevent stone retention and drilling, powerful stone ejectors are built within the high void tread. The Patagonia M/T also has angled biting edges that improve traction and performance no matter what surface you’re driving on. Its unique siping aids in grip even in the most difficult situations on and off the road. The integrated center rib improves on-road handling while maintaining a quiet, pleasant ride.
Milestar combines a harder cut and chip-resistant tread compound with a high-void tread design and a 3-ply sidewall. (On select sizes) The result is a tire that confidently navigates even the most difficult terrain, whether it’s rocks, gravel, mud, or anything else.
Because of the larger tread voids, the Milestar MT self-cleans far better than we expected. Built-in stone ejectors remove rocks and other materials for improved off-road performance.
The Patagonia M/T has staggered tread blocks and alternating notched shoulder lugs for enhanced traction on and off-road. The tires’ biting edges and unique sipe shape provide more than adequate traction on wet or snow-covered road surfaces, a feature frequently cited in driver reports.
Milestar provides a variety of 15–20-inch diameters in both LT and float variants. There is also a limited tread warranty.
Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire Design
In this review, The Milestar Patagonia M/T tire quickly draws your attention. Its distinct center block band, shoulder bar pattern, and memorable name (boldly inscribed on the sidewalls) make it impossible to confuse with any other tire. Aside from the tire’s visual flair, the sticker price is likely to be the most eye-catching characteristic. Milestar has entered a competitive market rung with street pricing of slightly over $200 for a 315/70r17.
The standards that today’s users have come to expect build the M/T. This mud terrain tire is more than an add-on to Tireco’s generally largely urban-oriented tires, combining 3-ply sidewalls, stone ejectors, and extensive, intricate siping in a high void design. A new F-rated variant for 34 and 1-ton applications will be available beginning in 2019.
In the fall of 2018, we installed that stack of UPS-delivered tires, replacing a set of long-term tested BFG KO2s that had replaced Interco’s TrXus M/T. With such a recent release, I was eager to see what personality the Milestar tires would have. Big O Tire technicians installed each 72-lb piece of fresh rubber on Toyota OEM wheels, balancing them with 6 ounces each.
With such a distinctive tread pattern, the Patagonia M/T immediately piqued my interest in how it would perform and how noisy the drive to each trailhead would be. I became accustomed to tires that I gave little regard to after switching to the smooth-rolling KO2s nearly two years ago. This, it turns out, would be the next surprise from the tire named after Chile’s and Argentina’s renowned, rugged southern Andes areas.

Milestar Patagonia M/T Buying Guide
Tire shopping can be a time-consuming procedure, but it doesn’t have to be. Selecting the ideal tires can be as simple as pie if you know what you’re searching for, what fits your car, and what the vehicle requires. To make things easier, we’ve designed a brief checklist that you can use to locate the right match.
Size
The size of the tire is the most significant factor to consider. Consult your mechanic before altering tire sizes. The sidewalls of the tires and the owner’s handbook list the tire size if the vehicle has factory rims. If you do not want to modify the size, the size of the currently mounted tires is the best to utilize.
Application
Tires are required for various vehicles. Not only does tire size matter, but so does vehicle application. Off-road and on-road vehicles require adaptable tires to ensure performance and safety. To ensure the tires are a good fit, consider how and where you want your car to perform.
Durability
Tire stamp speed and load ratings. They represent the load and performance endurance. The figures must correspond to the vehicle’s requirements. You can find them on the sidewalls of the tires or in the owner’s manual. The speed rating indicates the ability and power of the performer, whereas the load rating indicates the load capacity throughout the performance.
Milestar Patagonia M/T Features
The tread design is an important feature of every mud-terrain tire. In this review, the Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire has a tread design with substantial voids to aid in the removal of mud and debris from the tread. As a result, the tire should be able to constantly give optimal performance. The tire also has stone ejectors to keep the tread clear of rocks. The idea is to keep them from becoming lodged in the tread and causing harm as you drive.
Aquaplaning resistance is another area where the tread should improve. The greater gap in the tread should keep the tire stable when driving over water.
Milestar focused on the blocks for traction, which is critical. The block edges of the Patagonia M/T have biting edges and are positioned at an angle. The company believes that by combining these two factors, the tire will have outstanding traction in off-road conditions.
Regardless of the surface on which you drive, grip is essential for maintaining control. The Patagonia M/T has intricate sipes across the blocks to improve grip in both conditions.
Milestar included a road feature in the tire designed for off-road use, and it is designed to aid in handling while also providing a soft and comfortable ride.
Milestar Patagonia M/T Performance
An evaluation of its performance will give you further information about the tire’s credibility and quality.
Off-Road Performance
In this review, The Milestar Patagonia M/T tire has a high-void tread pattern that is designed to deliver strong biting edges for increased off-road grip while also being self-cleaning.
Milestar integrated stone ejectors into those enormous spaces, protecting against stone retention and drilling, while the angled biting edges give the essential mud traction.
But what is the outcome of this design? According to our Jeep off-road test, the Patagonia M/T is an extremely capable tire in most off-road terrains.
The vehicle exhibits excellent traction on hardpacked ground and thick muck, and it can even conquer certain sand dunes.
Large rocks, however, are not its forte, despite Milestar’s marketing of it as a rock-crawling tire. This is especially true on wet rocks, where the cheaper tread compound quickly loses traction.
Meanwhile, the stone ejectors are effective, and a few miles on the highway are sufficient to clean the tread of mud.
However, the Patagonia M/T isn’t as resistant as its expensive counterparts, so expect more chipping, cuts, and bruising.
This tire’s overall off-road performance rating is around 98 percent efficiency. You may observe this incredible outcome in the tire features. Deep mud, dirt, sand, gravel, and rocky terrain are all covered by off-road performance. This tire model offers increased rigidity and toughness to withstand chipping and cuts caused by sharp and rough surfaces.
This tire’s staggered alternative tread block designs and various sipes improve biting grip and traction in off-road conditions. It also features stone blocker designs that push rocks and pebbles away from the tire’s surface. Similarly, its 3-ply sidewall provides improved impact resistance and cornering ability.
Dry Traction
The Milestar Patagonia M/T has a high-void tread pattern that is designed to deliver strong biting edges for increased off-road grip while also being self-cleaning.
There is very good traction on hardpacked ground and thick muck, and you can even assault certain sand dunes.
This tire’s total dry traction performance rating is roughly 80%. This category comprises the tire’s dry traction, handling, and cornering properties. Its staggered alternative tread block patterns and various sipes help to improve dry traction and handling. In the meantime, the wider shoulder blocks aid in cornering performance.
Wet Traction
Mud-terrain tires provide poor wet traction.
As a result, Milestar Patagonia has a lot of empty space. This is something I’ve mentioned a few times because this tire contains massive blocks rather than small ones.
For mud tires, the equation is straightforward. If you choose larger lugs in your design, you’ll need a larger void area, such as Milestar Patagonia’s shoulder blocks.
In fact, this is beneficial for wet performance.
The larger lugs can be siped, which considerably enhances wet traction performance.
This tire’s overall wet traction and hydroplaning resistance is roughly 80%. This high rating is due to the many sipes that provide better biting edges and the deep void features that help channel water swiftly off the tire surface. This improves the tire’s contact with the road surface.
Winter Traction
On snow, the best-performing mud tires are average.
Under three different conditions, the winter performance can be assessed.
Light snow, deep snow, and ice are all possible.
Regarding light snow, it can manage it because of its siped center rib and fluffy compound, but I don’t recommend using mud-terrain tires on light snow. This is a coin flip. If the temperature is too low, your tire’s grip potential may be lost. So, if you’re going to use it in light snow, I strongly advise you to warm up your tires before any journey.
In terms of deep snow, also known as packed snow. In this review, the voided design of the Milestar Patagonia M/T tire is ideal for this season. Milestar Patagonia MT provides exceptional packed snow grip because of its blocky and staggered shoulders and fluffy and sticky compound.
Regarding ice, when it comes to ice, some perform better than others. This requires a 3PMSF compound, a lot of sipes, and a lot of rubber on the ground. So, if you require ice traction, steer clear of mud tires.
It has an overall snow traction of roughly 80% in mild to deep snow conditions. This is due to the tire’s staggered tread block patterns and various sipes. In snow conditions, it improves biting grip and traction.
Level of Noise and Comfort
The Patagonia M/T rides rather smoothly on the highway, thanks to the continuous center rib described twice in this review, and without the normal vibrations produced by other mud-terrain tires.
The sidewalls, on the other hand, aren’t quite as sophisticated, which means the ride quality suffers dramatically on broken surfaces, where you’ll feel a lot of the bumps.
In the meantime, despite its aggressive tread design, the Patagonia M/T is surprisingly quiet for an off-road tire. There is a discernible growl, but it isn’t unduly invasive and is probably quieter than most.
Even some all-terrain and hybrid tires are noisier than the Patagonia M/T, in my opinion.
Its noise reduction skills are limited, but its total performance for noise reduction and comfort is approximately 75%. Its central tread block design improves handling and stability on the road. The wider shoulder block, on the other hand, aids in creating efficient corners. As a result, it meets both on-road and off-road requirements.
Longevity
Tread life is proportional to the design and compound stiffness. I’ve mentioned in this review, that the Milestar Patagonia M/T tire has a fluffy compound that dramatically reduces tread life.
However, sipe placement and density are game changers in this scenario. Off-road tires have an irregular wear pattern. As a result, the horizontal sipes generate too much reaction force and wear down faster than other areas of the tire.
So, what did Milestar do to extend the life of their tires? They modified the direction of certain sipes, which you may not notice at first glance. For example, some of its shoulder sipes were formerly horizontal and are now vertical. Vertical sipes provide less reaction force than horizontal sipes. As a result, wear diminishes.
The tread life of the Milestar Patagonia M/T is average. Even if you acquire version two, you’ll gain longer tread life, but this isn’t a tire for lengthy highway drives. It’s a bit unrealistic to expect long-lasting rubber.
Handling
In truth, handling has two distinct dimensions. Cornering stability and steering responsiveness.
Because mud tires are not designed for high-speed use, their handling capability is limited, as expected.
Milestar, on the other hand, has something to say.
Steering Response
Milestar Patagonia M/T features a huge void area due to its increased self-cleaning capability and continuous traction.
Compound stiffness and compound amount on the ground are therefore two factors that affect steering response.
Milestar Patagonia M/T fails on both counts. However, the tread design hides some of it.
This beast’s large shoulder blocks and sturdy center rib give a mediocre response.
On the highway, the steering response of the Milestar Patagonia M/T tire is mediocre.
Milestar Patagonia M/T tires in all sizes have a Q speed index, which implies they can handle higher speeds than other inexpensive mud tires.
Cornering Control
Mud-terrain tires’ cornering stability is normally adequate because of their robust sidewalls.
Fortunately, the Milestar Patagonia M/T has a 3-ply sidewall in all sizes.
The problem is that because it has a strong central rib, its shoulder blocks are fluffy. Manufacturers choose the other side to boost cornering stability. However, because this is an off-road tire, it requires some flex for air-down use. As a result, acceptable preferences
At high speeds, the rigidity difference between shoulder blocks and sidewalls could be a concern.
While the Milestar Patagonia M/T provides adequate cornering stability in city driving, I recommend taking it gently on the interstate.
What are the Indicators of Maintenance?
In this review, The Milestar Patagonia M/T is a high-traction off-road tire that comes in a variety of sizes ranging from 15 to 22 inches in diameter.
Milestar, for example, offers LT-metric sizes for full-size and heavy-duty truck drivers, as well as flotation sizes for off-road enthusiasts, including 31-inch, 33-inch, 35-inch, 37-inch, and even 40-inch variants!
The Patagonia M/T, like any other mud-terrain tire, includes industry-standard TWIs (tread wear indicators), which can alert the driver when it’s time to change the tires.
However, TWIs only appear when the tread depth hits 2/32 inches, which is frankly too low for an off-road tire; in my view, such tires should be replaced when the tread depth reaches 5/32 inches.
Because the Patagonia M/T has a 19/32-inch tread depth when new, it will take some time to get there.
Nonetheless, competitive mud-terrain tires often have a longer tread life, especially if you pay a little more.
How Does It Perform on a Dry Tarmac?
In dry circumstances, the Patagonia M/T delivers a respectable performance. It is not intended for these situations, yet it manages to provide usable performance.
Even though the performance is quite usable, the tire does have some limits. Grip and traction are adequate and will keep the car on course if you don’t push it too hard. In this review, the Milestar Patagonia M/T tire has good braking distances in terms of safety. They’re not as short as the top competitors, but they’re still quite short.
Handling isn’t the tire’s strong suit, which is understandable. It’s not the most responsive tire in the segment, and the sidewall flex is noticeable. Stability is also adequate, thanks in part to the central rib. The Patagonia M/T will provide you with adequate directional stability.
How Does It Handle Rainy and Slick Roads?
The Patagonia M/T’s wet performance is adequate and will not disappoint you if you are aware of the tire’s capabilities.
The microsiping on the blocks does an excellent job of keeping the tire on the road. Grip and traction levels are adequate for a tire built primarily for use on the road. The braking distances are slightly longer than the competitors and better than average for this class.
In terms of handling and stability, the tire performs similarly to how it did in dry circumstances. Even at the limit, the Patagonia M/T is manageable and won’t catch you off guard.
The Patagonia M/T’s finest feature is its resistance to aquaplaning. The water evacuation properties of the tire are good due to the high void tread design. Even at highway speeds, it will remain stable and not pull to one side.
How Is It Going With the Snow?
All-season tires aren’t a substitute for winter tires, but the Patagonia M/T does a good job at it.
In light snow, the tire performs admirably in terms of grip and traction. It’s quite usable and outperforms some of its competitors. On the control front, it’s not the most grounded tire on the market, but it’s still safe. Another aspect of safety is that the braking distances are sufficient.
The tire’s performance on packed snow isn’t as good, but it’s still usable. Ice is the tire’s weakest spot, which isn’t surprising given that it isn’t a true winter model.
Is It Refined and Comfortable?
The Patagonia M/T appears to have two personalities. One component is more or less predictable, while the other is surprising yet favorable.
The Patagonia M/T’s comfort levels aren’t especially high, which is to be expected from a mud-terrain tire. The riding quality is significantly rough, owing to the internal design of the tire. Lowering the pressure levels helps, but the tire isn’t the most comfy alternative.
The noise levels were the most surprising to me. The tread pattern of mud-terrain tires is known to be noisy, which is not the case with the Patagonia M/T. Despite the high void tread design, this tire is acceptable as an off-road capable alternative.
Is It Suitable for Off-Roading?
The Patagonia M/T is a mud-terrain tire, which means it’s the most off-road capable option on the market. Even though the tire can deliver on that promise, things aren’t as bright as they appear.
Milestar chose a softer rubber compound, which means the tire can provide superior traction on dirt roads. It is a good choice for mud or sand driving due to the tread design with deeper grooves. Rock crawling is also great when you can deflate it to a certain amount without destroying the sidewall.
As appealing as that may appear, the Patagonia M/T has a flaw. This performance is guaranteed as long as the tire is new. Performance will decline much faster than it would with quality tires.
Is the Milestar Patagonia M/T Suitable for Racing?
Mud-terrain tires are not designed for fast driving; hence, the Patagonia M/T will underperform in this category.
The handling is adequate for everyday driving but not for cornering. The Patagonia M/T isn’t a particularly potent challenger in terms of grip and traction, so it won’t hold up well on a track.
Is the Milestar Patagonia M/T Worth It?
The Patagonia M/T is an excellent mid-range mud-terrain tire with exceptional off-road performance.
The tire has decent driving characteristics, and the Patagonia M/T is adequate. The dry and wet performance is adequate, with ample grip and traction, more than enough for the ordinary driver. It handles similarly to other mud-terrain tires, making it easy to control, and has acceptable braking distances. Furthermore, you get a usable winter performance on both packed and unpacked snow. The tire will struggle in deep snow or ice; therefore, consider winter tires.
In terms of off-road capability, the Patagonia M/T excels on everything from dirt roads to rock crawling. This places it among the top performers in its class. Having said that, the tire’s performance diminishes far faster than the rest of the pack.
The price-to-warranty ratio is comparable to that of the other tires in this class. It’s a mid-range tire with no treadwear warranty that’s one of the less expensive options in the category.
Refinement has two sides, one of which is that it provides an acceptable low noise level from a tire that can be a little harsher than other tires.
The Patagonia M/T is a superb mud-terrain tire at a cheap price if you’re ready to tolerate the comfort levels or drop the pressure to soften it up.
What Vehicles Can Fit the Milestar Patagonia M/T?
The Milestar Patagonia M/T will fit the following vehicles:
- Chevrolet Tahoe, Silverado, and Blazer
- Dodge Durango, Ram
- Ford F-150 and Bronco
- GMC Yukon and Canyon
- Jeep Wrangler and Cherokee
- Mitsubishi Pajero, L200

Is the Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire Right for You?
Milestar is a tire brand that provides high-quality tires in the mid-price category. In this review, the Milestar Patagonia M/T Tire variant is designed for great mud terrain and off-road performance. This tire is ideal for drivers who demand exceptional off-road traction for their cars. Mud terrain tires are best suited for off-road vehicles since they can firmly handle a variety of terrain surfaces with ease.
Price of Milestar Patagonia M/T
Milestar Patagonia M/T mud-terrain tires begin at $150 per tire, which is much less than the price of other mud-terrain tires. (While that is cheaper than you might assume, do note that the Patagonia M/T starts at a 15-inch tire, while most companies start their M/T sizes at 16- or 17-inches.) The most expensive 20-inch sizes cost roughly $400 per tire. Once again, a very low price for a decent mud-terrain tire.
Warranty for Milestar Patagonia M/T
In this review, While there is no mileage warranty on the Milestar Patagonia M/T tire, it does come with a standard limited warranty. Milestar will replace any tires with flaws in workmanship or materials for the life of the tread if discovered during the first 6 years of original production or the first five years of purchase – on a pro-rated basis.
Consumer Review of Milestar Tires
Positive Milestar Tires Experiences
“A fantastic tire at an unbelievable price!” When I returned to my local, well-known nationwide tire store after those tires didn’t last anywhere near the mileage I was supposed to get out of them, I was hoping they would compensate me with at least some discount on a replacement set, but when the salesman told me that the warranty is void because I use my car for Uber, I was disappointed. I thought he was using it as an excuse to avoid helping me and that he was no longer deserving of my business.
I started looking for a nice tire at a reasonable price because I drive a lot. When I saw this tire on the Amazon website, I was surprised but suspicious, to say the least. I went ahead and ordered them, but I was still skeptical about the performance of these tires. I’ve never been happier to admit a mistake. The tires are excellent; they handle the road well, are ideal for severe braking and cornering, have a quiet ride, and provide high mpg. I’m getting the same tire for the third time owing to regular wear and tear, and I’ll most certainly order more the next time I need new ones. “The obvious choice for Toyota Camry SE replacement tires” MS932 Sport Milestar

Negative Milestar Tire Experiences
“I purchased four tires (MS932 Sport All-Season Radial Tire – 215/55R17 98V) in 2019 and discovered one of them had a bubble on the wall during a recent visit to the auto shop for inspection.” It was on the front tire, which was fortunate because I don’t drive on the highway very often. The bubble is on the inside wall, so we can only view it after dismounting the wheel.
When the speed exceeds 60 miles per hour, my steering wheel begins to vibrate. It was the reason I went to the mechanic, and they discovered it on the front wheel during rotation and balancing. The defective wheel is now rare, and the manufacturer is being contacted for a replacement. “I hope they honor the replacement.”

Mud-terrain tires do not often accommodate winter circumstances. If you live in a region with cold weather and snow, it is recommended to switch to winter tires.
Final Thoughts
This tire has many aspects to like and dislike, but the benefits it demonstrated stuck out the most. Its features and off-road performance exceeded our expectations. Despite being aggressive on off-road roads, it provided excellent comfort and noise reduction on the freeway. It performed similarly to its dry traction abilities in terms of wet traction. Meanwhile, its traction qualities in light to thick snow are shockingly above average.
We believe the tire has effectively lived up to its claim of being an all-terrain and all-season tire when we consider all of this data together. If you are still unsure, you might look online for comparable tire brands to this one. We hope we were able to give you useful information on this tire.
In this review, Milestar may not be a household name, but they have been producing some very nice lower-priced tires for many years, and this Patagonia M/T tire is no exception. This tire’s performance is somewhat surprising. It will carry you across any terrain without a fight.
At first glance, one might believe that such an aggressive tread design would make street driving a chore. The ride, on the other hand, is smoother and quieter than imagined. Multiple drivers have confirmed this.
The main risk with this tire is that it may have a shorter tread life. However, it has not been a problem for the majority of drivers.
Overall, if you’re looking for a low-cost, high-value MT tire, the Milestar Patagonia MT is well worth considering. We rate it in the top half of its class and believe it is one of the better low-cost models available today.
